Do I practice compassion this way. His name is Marshall and he said: " True compassion is not about a hand out of the ditch you fell in, it's getting in the ditch loving and encouraging you until you are ready to get out."
I began to think about our salvation this morning. God gave us a book of His story with humanity. Jesus came and showed us the example of who we are. Then He sent the Holy /Spirit ti enter us and enable us when we choose to become children of God. It seems Adam opened the trapdoor for sin for us all to fall in and Jesus death and resurrection opened the door to our way out of the ditch. The Holy Spirit seems to be in the ditch with us loving and encouraging us until we realize we need out and want out.
I am thinking if we are the children of that family we need to resemble our family characteristics more.
Some of us do as we have seen in recent tragedies. We have seen people helping people at their own risk. I hope it doesn't take more tragedy to see more of this action. My prayer is we will do more preemptive loving and encouraging of our fellow humans.
