How do we learn from that? We can compare ourselves to chunks of charcoal in the earth. All our trials and tribulations are the fire and pressure. The next step here is to take everyone of these trials and tribulations to the Master , the Lord and let Him define them. His definitions make for cuts that brilliantly shine light . They will sparkle with His glory.
Usually when we define our circumstances they fewer cuts and contain many inclusions . Inclusions are those black spots you see inside lesser valued diamonds. Those black spots are the carbon still left in there, the pieces of earth that didn't come of in the cutting. I want to be a brilliant cut diamond with no inclusions. Sometimes it is difficult to stay in the masters hand and let him define a painful moment. Our natural instinct when we are in pain is to self protect. Some of us love to repeat our sorrows and dramas over and over with no mention of what it means in their relationship to God. They keep hanging on to all the carbonn of life they can. It doesn't matter if the pain is physical, emotional or mental anguish. It is the choice we have to make . We put it is the masters hand and let Him walk us through and define it and us. It also defines who He is in your life and helps other to trust Him with theirs.
Remember He works everything out for good in the end. If it's not good , it's not over.
