The caterpillar instinctively then makes a cocoon like thing around himself. A strange thing happens inside there, it liquifies. I have often in my walk gone through moments when I can not define myself. I am aware I am becoming something other than what I was.
That liquid in due time becomes a butterfly and feels the cramping of the space it is occupying. It will begin to fight it's way out. This fight is necessary to be strong enough to survive the next chapter of its life. Once it crawls out of it old habitation it can fly. It will stretch its wings and display its colors and fly away.
When the caterpillar is born it has the DNA of a butterfly. It has the DNA of a butterfly when it is in its cocoon and is liquified. We christians often get hung up defining ourselves by the stage we see ourselves in. However from the beginning God has placed the DNA of heaven in us to be butterflies. We can rest in the knowledge that our DNA will create us to be who we are intended to be. But we need to cooperate. We can not make the process happen but we can help or hinder it.
If you were to interview a Butterfly and ask it to describe it self it would not say i am a worm with little legs that eats greens. We need to guard our thoughts and agree with heaven about who we are .
I am a butterfly with beautifully colored wings . I feed on the nectar of heaven.
