This made me think of the scripture that says our God is the potter and we are the clay. Father God as a potter dreamed of a piece in His hear that He wanted. He took the clay in hand, not a tool. He put it on the wheel and made sure it was wet and soft for molding. This could be the situations of life we go through that set our world spinning like a tornado to. I would also think it would be the Holy spirit working in us to soften our hearts and spirits.
It was the clay covered hands that caught my attention . Impressed by the thought of , we have a bare hands on, kind of God . A Father God who is not reluctant to get his hands dirty with the miry clay of our lives to work with us in molding and shaping the character and purpose of our lives.
Can you visualize the hand of God press in on places and then pulling out in other places? Always applying just the right pressure to make a point but not rip the clay, Can you sence the delight in His heart when the piece has cooperated with His touch and stands there formed into what His heart longed for.
Have you ever created something? Do you stand there and admire your handy work? Did you develop a heart for it? Did it acquire a special place in your heart? Did you want to show it to people? If you did you have had just a taste of how Papa feels about you.
A closer feeling would be if you are a parent and you held your newborn. That's a wow moment right there.
Look down the road and see the investment of all the time and effort in raising a child and they stand before you grown and demonstrating the character you hoped they would model.
I know many parents whose children fell off the molding wheel for one reason or another. That is a whole other essay.
Papa God endures the same heartbreak and pain when He sees some of our lives. That is why He leaves the 99 and goes after us.
I love the verse that says He will take our mutilated clay lives and turn it into something beautiful. He either wets us down again and puts us back on the wheel for remoldling or He will do like the old Japanese culture and fill the cracks in with Gold.
